Does membership really matter?
If it didn’t, a major credit card company would have never marketed the slogan, “membership has its privileges.”  Membership does matter! In fact, nowhere does it matter more than in the local New Testament church. 

Everyone has the opportunity to join and become involved in the privileges of the ministry of Mikado Baptist Church. In order to really get connected, it is necessary to join! Many churches refer to joining as taking the next step. At Mikado, only three requirements are necessary for taking that next step to join: 

  • Salvation — trusting in Christ alone (read more here)
  • Baptism — by immersion under the water, which symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (read more here)
  • Attending a Discover Mikado 101, 102 and 103

Discover Mikado 101
Discover Mikado 101 is an R.S.V.P. luncheon that begins with a delicious, catered meal following the 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship service. It is generally offered about once a month. Enjoying a meal with our Mikado leadership team provides prospective members the opportunity to connect with our team and catch our passion for the ministry.

Discover Mikado 102
The following Wednesday evening, a class is given that presents and explanation of Mikado's history, doctrinal positions, purpose statements, and vision. A question and answer session provides a comfortable setting for guests to ask questions to determine if this is where God would have them to join. The class concludes with a tour of our campus in which you'll be able to see our ministry in full swing, during our Wednesday evening activities.

Discover Mikado 103
The following Sunday, during the Sunday School hour, you will be given the opportunity to have an informal meeting with our Senior Pastor, Rusty Smith. He will share his vision for our church and you'll be able to gain valuable knowledge that will help you make your decision as to whether God would have you join the membership of Mikado. In addition, you'll be able to participate in a question and answer session.
